Wings India, along with The Aamby Valley City, is organizing the 8th International Aero Modelers meet, by far the largest congregation of RC enthusiasts in India. It promises to be an outstanding display of Men & Machines where the best of best will be performing, par excellence. We bring to you, at our own doorstep, a glimpse of International competitive skills in the sport of Aero Modeling.

The AAMBY VALLEY INTERNATIONAL AEROMODELLERS MEET is scheduled from 24th January (Thursday) until 27th January (Sunday) ' 2013, at The Aamby Valley Airport, one of the most beautiful air fields in the world, located in the perpetual greens of the Shayadri mountain ranges, in western India, approximately 120 km from the city of Mumbai.

Entry will be subject to registration by all participants / visitors at the registration counter.

* RIGHT OF ADMISSION RESERVED.
* All payments at the Registration counter- cash only.
* Any taxes, if applicable, shall be charged extra.
* Fees shall be charged date specific as given above.
* All Entry Passes will be case specific and non-transferable.
* Registration for flyers Will Close at 1400 Hrs. on 27thJan. 2013
* Vehicles and drivers of flyers will be given an entry pass for parking in the allocated zone close to the visitor’s area.
* Limited parking space available for visitors vehicles.
* Drivers and attendants of visitors should not enter the flying field unless registered as Visitors.
* Life Members of Wings India shall be entitled to a 50% discount on the personal and one assistant (driver) registration fees. Other    Wings India members shall be extended a discount of 30% on their registration fee only. The above concessions shall also be    extended to the qualifying members of affiliated clubs on production of valid membership cards/proof.
* All residents of Aamby Valley City, as of date, on proof thereof, will be eligible to a 10% discount on the registration fees.
* All the above discounts will run concurrently and not severally. No further concessions would be admitted on account of any other    charges, including for assistants and guests. Past members whose membership may have expired or defaulting members will not be    eligible to any discounts.
* Sponsors and such other associates may be extended complimentary facilities as per the policy of the organizers.
* Free participation / Entrance may be permitted to special invitees and guests at the discretion of the organizers.
* Service Staff/Vehicles & such other collaterals, as may be deemed fit, will be provided free access to the flying field, by the    organizers.

The demo flying sessions shall be judged by appointed committees based on which, awards will be given for best performance in following categories (subject to change):

7. Concourse-de-elegance – Props

Award Distribution ceremony will be held on the evening of 26th January 2013, followed by cocktails and dinner at the Aamby Valley Resort. (Attendance by Invitation).

For the Junior Category awards will be distributed on Sunday the 27th Jan. at the airfield, at 13.00 Hrs.

PROVISIONS

We shall endeavor to provide for following; without commitments:
1. Glow fuels with or without Nitro Methane.
2. Jet fuel.
3. Charging facility for TX and RX packs.
4. Ten work tables will be provided in the visitor’s area for temporary maintenance and repairs.

While the fuels will be supplied on charge basis, the other facilities described will be complimentary.

The organizers should not be held responsible for any loss or damage caused to the property of the user or to himself.

Any tools and tackles shall be the responsibility of the owners / user. Every user of the space should ensure the safety and convenience of his colleagues around. Starting of engines in the covered space will be strictly prohibited.

DISPLAY AREAS

It is planned to provide standard Display Tables admeasuring 4ft by 2 ft, or 6ft by 2 ft in the main tent area, at nominal cost to vendors so desirous. The charges will be:

For Table size 2’ X 4’ - Rs. 10,000 (US $ 250.00) - One time
For Table size 2’ X 6’ - Rs. 15,000 (US $ 350.00) - One time

Advertisement Banners 9’ X 3’ Rs. 25,000 (US $ 500.00) – Onetime

FREQUENCY CONTROL

1. Use of radio frequencies other than 2.4 GHz is strictly prohibited.
2. For all spot frequencies (other than 2.4 GHz), the transmitters may be impounded to protect accidental usage.
3. While all the efforts will be made by the administrators to maintain vigilance over clash of the frequencies, however, this is without commitment by the Organizers. The risk and responsibility shall continue to be that of the flyer / user.

SAFETY

R/C flying planes / helicopters are high speed flying machines and needs to be treated with respect, both, in terms of responsibility and self discipline. A chart of do’s and don’ts will be displayed at the event site which, we recommend that all flyers / visitors should abide by in all earnestness. Particular care should be exercised in respect of young children, since their curiosity may become a cause of unwanted accidents. All guardians of such children are strongly advised to ensure that their dependents maintain a respectable distance from these powerful machines, especially when in action.

DISTANCES TO THE AAMBY VALLEY CITY

Aamby Valley is also connected to Mumbai through private Charter Air Services operating to &from Juhu Airport. For Details please contact Aamby Valley at 91-20-22900000. The flight time is approximately 20 Mins. The daily schedule flights, as were in the past, stand suspended for the time being.

CUSTOMS CLEARANCE OF MODEL AIRPLANES / HELIS FOR USE BY OUR INTERNATIONAL GUEST AT THE EVENT

Normally, all imports into India are subject to custom duty as per the prevailing regulations and tariffs. However, visiting sportsmen who desire to use their sport/hobby items may seek exemptions from payment of duty provided that they undertake to carry the items back with them within a given period on their return. Such exemptions are available under following provisions:

a. Carnet Scheme
Under the scheme, as per international practice, the importer should declare the items being exported by them for re-import with description and identification thereof at the port of origin to their corresponding regulatory authority. The Indian customs would then recognize such an endorsement and allow the import of the goods free of duty for the period specified in the carnet declaration.

b. Ad-hoc Import
Any incoming, foreign national, carrying goods for demo, display or exhibition, will have to declare such goods with value thereof to the Indian customs at the point of entry. The custom department may at its discretion, allow the clearance of the goods free, or ask for furnishing a guarantee/surety by an Indian associate, for the value of duty assessed. In such cases, cash payment of the duty can be avoided, however, provided that the custom department is satisfied with the case. Alternatively, the import will be chargeable to the tariffs prevailing and conditions thereon.

It is recommended that any participants desirous of bringing their own model- aircrafts, for flying, should send them by Air Cargo beforehand, so as to reach Mumbai Air Cargo at least ten days prior to the meet commencing. This is to facilitate custom clearance formalities well in time and to avoid unexpected last minute inconveniences.

Wings India shall assist its participating members (without commitment) to facilitate clearance of the incoming faculties, provided we are well informed of the details of such import viz contents, value, size and gross weight of consignment. Such information should reach our Club Secretary, Mr. George Jacob on or before 5th January’ 13. We shall then forward the same to the Indian customs at the Mumbai airport, for them to consider favorably. However, we reiterate that all such support shall be without any commitment or obligation on our part and will be subject to Indian custom rules prevailing at that time.

MODEL TRANSPORTATION

Those participants, desirous of seeking assistance for transportation of their models from Mumbai city locations to the Aamby Valley airport may kindly contact Mr. George Jacob for assistance.

Wings India, without obligation, is working to provide collective transport facility by trucks/ vans from given locations in Mumbai City, at specific schedules to the event venue. The facility will be provided on charge basis at cost. Intimation of the packages, with approximate dimensions and gross weight should be furnished on or before the 15th January 2013. Such transportation will be at the risk of the owner, and the club shall not be responsible for any loss or damage arising there from.
